ETV Green SME – Meeting in Pontedera, some detailed news

Last 25 March, in Pontedera, a Focus Group on project Erasmus+ ETV4GreenSME took place with the cooperation of Pont Tech and CNA Pisa. Some Fondazione Toscana Sostenibile (FTS) voulonteers welcomed expert on environmental sector, and new technology development from Artes 4.0, Tecnalia Italia e Tea Engineering Srl.

As stressed in the project developed between FTS and EKO Innovacje from Polonia, some basic aspects of the ETV4GreenSME were introduced. They can be resumed into the following points:

  • ETV4GreenSME is a voulontary environmental scheme to provide independent and credible information on new environmental technologies (ISO 14034:2016);
  • It’s a “snapshot” on an overall technology performance (to be used when a specific regulation is not present);
  • It is based on three specific criteria:
      • Compliance to the definition of environmental technology;
      • Sufficient level of maturity in its development process;
      • Potential to comply with legal and regulatory requirements of the target market.

Defining the environmental technology area, it means ensure good results in 3 main subjects, as:

  • Water treatment and monitoring;
  • Material, waste and resources;
  • Energy technologies.

For the technology sufficient level of maturity means :

  • It is available, or it is ready to be commercialized in a market;
  • Full scale units are available;
  • It is developed at a level that no other substancial changes will impact in the efficience of its results.

And, of course, its fully legal compliance is the responsability of the SME.

Another basic aspect that was well shown during the Focus Group is the Implementation of the EU ETV Pilot Program, that need:

  • a Pre-verification of the technology in order to have a Quick scan report;
  • a Verification plan, to find out any information and data needed;
  • a Verification report, reflecting all the technical information and performances, to be used with a Statement of Verification, that summerize the result;
  •  In Post verification, the statement of verification is published on website and social media.

Some further examples were introduced and shown.
