Youth 4 Biodiversity – Fourth day of our journey in Germany

Here you can find a brief summary about the 4th day of Erasmus+ project Youth 4 Biodiversity, an international cooperation among Germany (Culture Goes Europe), Sweden (Goodness of People), Portugal (Onda Verde) and Italy (Fondazione Toscana Sostenibile).

In the morning, we focused on the topic of meaningful youth participation and explored what makes young people truly involved in society and decision-making processes. πŸ’‘
We discussed the five key factors that influence youth participation at the local level: rights, support, opportunities, means, and space. πŸŒπŸŒ³πŸ¦‹
Through interactive discussions, we reflected on how these factors can either encourage or prevent young people from actively participating in their communities and creating change. 🏘️
To better understand these concepts, we worked in five groups and prepared short creative presentations for the others. Each group represented one of the key elements of meaningful youth participation, while the other participants had to guess which concept was being presented. This activity helped us understand the importance of communication, teamwork, and different perspectives in youth work. πŸ‘πŸ‘«πŸ‘¬
Later, we had an improvised outdoor lunch in an unusual setting, which gave us an opportunity to connect informally, enjoy nature, and experience a different atmosphere from the regular daily routine. πŸ₯ͺ
In the afternoon, we went on a hike through the local natural area. πŸ₯ΎπŸšΆβ€β™‚οΈπŸšΆβ€β™€οΈβ€βž‘️
During the walk, we explored the forest, visited two small villages, and learned more about the surrounding environment and local landscape. On the way back, we decided spontaneously to explore the forest further, which made the experience more adventurous and engaging. The activity encouraged curiosity, cooperation, and connection with nature. πŸ•οΈπŸ΄
After returning, we had a reflection session where everyone shared an important memory connected to nature. We also discussed how personal stories and emotional connections to nature can help communicate environmental issues and inspire other people to care more about sustainability and biodiversity. πŸ§˜β€β™€οΈπŸ§˜β€β™‚οΈπŸ§˜β€β™€οΈ
To finish the day, we experienced a traditional German sauna, which became a relaxing and culturally interesting way to end the program activities together. πŸ§–πŸ§–β€β™€οΈπŸ§–
We really appreciate the whole day activities and time!!!
